Why should you attend? 
If you involved in or exposed to excavation activities you should consider attending this course It could save your life. In the United States, OSHA mandates that every excavation project have a trained "competent person" on site to oversee safe work practices. Research indicates that the fatality rate for excavation work is 112% higher than the rate for general construction.
Upon Completion of this training, participants will understand the duties and importance of a competent person as well as the knowledge, skills and documentation required of the competent person during excavation activities.

At the conclusion of this course: the student should be able to:
- Display extensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P Excavations
- Demonstrate correct soil testing procedures using manual and visual methods
- Identify hazards associated with trenching and excavation
- Understand and identify the different types of protective systems
